Τη Δευτέρα 26 Αυγούστου στις 10:00 πμ – 1:00 μμ θα πραγματοποιηθεί ημερίδα με τίτλο «Breaking down the walls in discovery, science and technology» στο Αμφιθέατρο Πολυμέσων της Βιβλιοθήκης ΕΜΠ. Επιστήμονες και ερευνητές από το ΕΜΠ, το ΜΙΤ και το Harvard, των οποίων το έργο στους τομείς της χημικής και περιβαλλοντικής μηχανικής, της βιολογίας, της φυσικής και των νευροεπιστημών συνδέεται, θα παρουσιάσουν και θα συζητήσουν τις ιδέες τους με το κοινό. Η ημερίδα απευθύνεται σε όλους όσους ενδιαφέρονται για τη δημιουργία μίας ελεύθερης επιστημονικής κοινότητας που θα προωθεί τη δημιουργικότητα, και η είσοδος θα είναι ελεύθερη.

  • (R)Evolution: from $ to mushrooms – Dr. Andreas Mershin, Research Scientist, Director of the Label-Free Research Group, MIT Center for Bits & Atoms
  • Hot and Cool Research – Dr. Simmie L. Foster, Researcher at Harvard Medical School – Boston Children’s Hospital, Instructor and Practicing Clinician at Massachusetts General Hospital

Summary: Researchers and scientists from the NTUA, MIT, and Harvard Medical School, whose work is interconnected, will present, exchange and discuss their ideas, demonstrating how various scientific concepts can inspire and complement one another. Chemical and environmental engineering, biology​, physics, sustainability and neurosciences will be blended in a constructive way showing how the future of academic research can be shaped towards an inclusive, label-free community to enhance freedom, creativity and intelligence. An open conversation with the audience will follow, stimulating questions and providing food for thought for the researchers of the next generation. Would you rather revolve or evolve?
