Internship
Internship at the School of Chemical EngineeeringThe Internship has been an established and compulsory part of the education of students at the NTUA School of Chemical Engineering since 1989. Today, it is a mandatory course included in the curriculum of the 8th semester. The Internship lasts for one (1) continuous calendar month and takes place after the end of the 8th semester courses and until October 31st of the same year.
Main Objectives of the Internship:

Consolidation of students’ theoretical and laboratory knowledge through practical application.

Familiarization of students with industrial and business reality in the workplace.

Identification and development of students’ skills and broadening of their interests.
The Internship contributes to:

The development of professional awareness among students.
-
The creation of lasting links between the School and employment sectors of its graduates.
-
The enrichment and modernization of Diploma Thesis topics, based on market demands.
Implementation Process
The Internship at the NTUA School of Chemical Engineering is carried out according to the following procedure:

Electronic registration in the NTUA Internship Support Information System “PRAXIS” (http://praktiki.chemeng.ntua.gr/).

Selection of a Host Institution (HI) where the Internship will be conducted.

Execution of the Internship.

Submission of required documentation after completion.
Students contact Host Institutions (HIs) offering positions. In cases funded by ESPA, positions must be published in the Central Support System for Student Internships “ATLAS” (https://submit-atlas.grnet.gr/). Once an agreement is reached and the exact Internship period is set, the HI representative informs the NTUA Internship Office.
To complete the Internship, the student must, within 10 calendar days after its conclusion, submit to the Internship Office the required documentation:

Certificate of successful completion from the HI,

Report of activities,
-
Questionnaire,
-
Supervisor’s report from the HI.
After review and verification of these documents, the Internship is recognized as successfully (or unsuccessfully) completed, and the necessary actions are taken for the payment of the stipulated remuneration.
Internship & ERASMUS+
The Internship can also be combined with participation in the ERASMUS+ program (http://erasmus.ntua.gr/).
In this case, students must:

Go abroad after completing their 8th semester of studies, and
-
Classify their work under ERASMUS+ as an Internship.
