Laboratory Personnel
The Laboratory contributes to the educational needs of the following courses:
- Thermodynamics I
- Thermodynamics II
- Advanced Thermodynamics
- Rational and Sustainable Management of Energy Systems
Teaching is complemented by a series of problem-solving and computational exercises.
The Laboratory’s research activities include:
- Experimental measurements of thermophysical properties and phase equilibria of pure substances and mixtures
- Thermodynamic simulation of thermophysical properties and phase equilibria using equations of state, activity coefficient models, or combinations thereof, for:
- low- and medium–molecular-weight fluids
- polymer mixtures
- petroleum mixtures
- organic and inorganic pollutants
- biotechnological products
- aqueous systems
- supercritical fluids
- ionic liquids
- Applications to separation processes (distillation, liquid extraction, supercritical extraction, membrane technology, etc.), to environmental problems, polymer systems, biotechnological systems, food processes, natural gas processing, biofuels, and more.
- Energy and exergy analysis and optimization of industrial systems.
