Environmental and Energy Management Research Unit

The Research Unit supports the educational needs of the following courses:

  • Transport Phenomena II
  • Energy Analysis of Industrial Systems

Teaching is complemented by computational laboratory sessions held in the Department’s Computer Room. At the postgraduate level, the Research Unit participates in the organization and teaching of courses within the Postgraduate Program in the Organization and Management of Industrial Systems, specialization in Energy Management and Environmental Protection Systems. It covers the educational needs of the following courses:

  • Environmental Systems Analysis and Impacts
  • Renewable Energy Sources
  • Problem Solving with Computers

The research activity of the Unit focuses on Energy Management and Environmental Systems Management. In the field of Energy Management, the main research directions include energy planning with integration of renewable energy sources and energy conservation in the industrial and residential sectors. In the field of Environmental Systems Management, emphasis is placed on water resources management, environmental management, and air pollution control.

The research effort is supported by a number of research projects that facilitate the exchange of information and experience with numerous scientific centers across Europe.
