Statistics and Experimental Design

5273Mandatory

Course Description

The course contains 3 units: a) Basic Probability Principles, b) Applied Statistics and c) Experimental Design. The aim of the first unit is to familiarize students with the basic concepts of probability theory, in order to gain the theoretical competence that will then enable them, to evaluate in practice experimental data. The purpose of the second unit – including practical application of techniques and tools in the PC-Lab – is to familiarize students with the basic statistical techniques required for data analysis, in order to be able to perform quantitative and qualitative research, to analyze and process experimental data or field research results, and evaluate the results of statistical tests (conclusions). Finally, the third unit analyzes the concepts of factorial design with two or more factors and two or more price levels, as well as optimal experimental design.
