Course Description

The Technical Drawing course aims at acquiring knowledge about the basic regulations of Technical Drawing (DIN, ISO, etc.) and their application in manual and CAD design. These regulations concern how to represent and draw parts and objects (views – sections), the rules for dimensioning and assemblies, as well as the standardization and drawing of Machine Elements such as screws, bearings and gears. In addition, dimensional and geometric tolerance regulations are covered, as well as material forming and machining capabilities, such as surface quality and machining. Students apply this knowledge through sketches and design software, while attending a design lab to learn AUTOCAD.

The course syllabus includes the following modules: General regulations of technical drawing, Views, Dimensioning, Sections, Design of assembled assemblies, Design of Machine Elements and their basic function, Surface Quality Symbolization & Welding, Dimensional Tolerances – Geometric Tolerances, Introduction to CAD and its use, AUTOCAD software environment, Basic 2D drawing commands, Creating a construction drawing from 3D models.
