Course Description
The aim of this course is to introduce the basic concepts of macro-economics and micro-economics and to familiarize engineers with the functioning of the financial system. During the course, the students explore how individuals and businesses make decisions, and how and under what circumstances these decisions interact with each other. At micro-level, the behavior of the different units of the economy (consumers and producers) in the context of the functioning of the various forms of markets is studied. In the macro-economic part of the course, the students are introduced to the economic models and circles of economics, but also to the basic macroeconomic figures, such as GDP, inflation, etc. Also the role of banks in the economy, international trade and related indicators of competitiveness, as well as the role of the public state in the economy are explored .
