Course Description
The aim of the course is to introduce students to Mathematical Modeling and Computational Problem Solving. Introduction to basic numerical analysis techniques and their application in MATLAB programming. Units included: Introduction to Mathematical Modeling and computational analysis of engineering problems. Solution of algebraic equations. Curve fitting. Numerical differentiation/integration. Numerical solution of ordinary differential equations. Initial value problems. Boundary value problems. PC-Lab training and implementation of computational methods in MATLAB or Octave software.
