Course Description
Aim of the course is to acquire students proper scientific background and skills required to design and realize instructional and learning processes in the field of natural sciences and Technology, with the aid of information and communication technologies (ICT) considering contemporary instructional methods.
The course covers the following topics: Introduction to Contemporary Pedagogics and Didactics, Historical overview of Didactics of Science and Technology. Learning theories and their applications in Physical Sciences and Technology courses. Architecture of instruction (Curriculum, Aim and Objectives, Instructional Design). Instructional methods and models (discovery learning, inquiry-based learning, constructivism, sociocultural approach). Students’ Misconceptions. Inquiry based – learning through an experimental approach. Assessment of students, instruction and instructors. Integration of ICT in instructional design- Learning environments (HTML, Moodle platform and asynchronous learning environment). Digital learning objects. Cooperative students’ activities using internet. Instructional scenario.
